I am one of those who do not want to be silent. I really enjoy watching women`s tennis and women`s sports in general. I think we deserve better. It`s not that we don`t make any effort and ask for more than we deserve, definitely not.


Women`s tennis has come a long way. I`m very grateful to Billie Jean King and all the other women who fought hard: Serena, Maria, everyone. They strive to represent our sport in the best possible way. I believe that many tennis players need to be aware and understand what is really going on.


Sometimes I think it`s not just about money, but also about respect, because sometimes - and I`ve said this many times - people judge women`s tennis without watching a single match. And it pisses me off.


Or, for example, someone suggests watching football. What kind of football? Male? Female? As a child, I myself simply turned on the TV and said: Let`s watch football, Ronaldo, this and that.


Firstly, we don`t have the opportunity to watch much women`s sport in general, and while that is changing now, I believe we need more in 2024. When I turn on the TV, I don`t want to read the Women`s World Cup. Maybe then we can talk about the Men`s World Cup? Little things like this matter.


As a woman who plays tennis, I want to inspire the next generation. And, for example, on our site, in Spain, I would love to go to the hotel, turn on the TV and watch a women`s tennis match. But I never saw a single women`s match. Of course, I understand that there are a lot of Spanish men playing, but at least one match? They don`t even show Spanish women.


This makes me very upset. How can you inspire young girls if they don`t show a single match? And then they say: Men`s tennis is better.
