The former Liverpool and Newcastle footballer Jose Enrique ended his career of a football player at the age of 31 years. In the period 2007-2011 year, Enrique had 127 appearances for the Magpies and then was purchased by the Merseysiders for 6.5 million pounds. Jose had 99 matches from football predictions in Liverpool, before leaving Anfield in September 2016.

He returned to his native Spain after his English stage but he was confronted with a serious knee injury and even ended up with a few surgical interventions. Jose eventually announced his retirement from football as a player.

`I cannot play without drugs, I can`t even work out without them. It is hard, I am desperate. Sometimes during my workouts dizzy because of the medication. After each match, my knee swells as a soccer ball and barely go over the next three days. What was supposed to be over in three days, lasted three years. In England, I visited five doctors, but they failed to solve the problem. That is causing me pain, several times they told me that the problem is psychological. I even began to believe in it, but it doesn`t work that way and that is why I decided to finish with football. Too bad, too bad, because I had a great desire to continue a few more years.`, Enrique said.
